CBA Plans Workers' Compensation Update

The Colorado Bar Association has scheduled its 2008 Annual Spring Workers' Compensation Update.

The program will take place on Friday, March 14 from 9 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. at the CBA-CLE Classroom, 1900 Grant Street, Denver.

The day begins with a comprehensive ICAP, legislative and case law update. The day continues with an segment on the new Rule 8 (Authorized Treating Physician) promulgated by the Division of Workers' Compensation (effective as of January 1) and the new "Lump Sum" rules. The afternoon begins with a segment on important ethics issues for both claimants' attorneys and respondents' attorneys.The afternoon continues with a session on the changes to Rule 16 (Utilization Standards and Prior Authorization Issues) and Rule 18 (Medical Fee Schedules).

Among the speakers are the Hon. Craig C. Eley, administrative law judge, Colorado Division of Workers' Compensation; the Hon. Curt Kriksciun, administrative law judge, Colorado Industrial Claim Appeals Office, and Marty McReynolds, manager-policy and research, Colorado Division of Workers' Compensation.
