McGuireWoods continues expanding its highly ranked securities and capital markets team with the arrival of partner Carly E. Ginley, an accomplished corporate lawyer who advises on capital markets transactions, securities law compliance and corporate governance matters. She joins the firm in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Ginley focuses her practice on representing public and private companies, investment banks, private equity firms and other institutional investors in capital markets transactions, including initial public offerings, follow-on and secondary offerings, and private and registered offerings of high-yield debt, investment grade debt and equity securities.
Ginley also advises corporate clients on securities law compliance, corporate governance matters, public reporting requirements, stock exchange rules and disclosure issues.
“Carly is a respected corporate lawyer and strategic adviser whose skill and insight will provide enormous benefits to clients,” said Richard W. Viola, deputy managing partner of McGuireWoods’ corporate practice.
Ginley joins McGuireWoods from Winston & Strawn, where she represented clients in securities transactions and general corporate matters.
“Carly will be a valuable contributor to our growing national practice,” said Greg Kilpatrick, chair of the firm’s Securities & Capital Markets Department. “Her impressive transactions experience enhances our already significant capabilities.”
Brian Kahn, managing partner of the firm’s Charlotte office, added: “Carly’s practice complements one of our core strengths in Charlotte and we are delighted to welcome her.”
McGuireWoods’ capital markets team has earned global recognition for its representation of corporate issuers and underwriters in complex corporate and securities matters, repeatedly ranking among the top law firms for debt and equity issuances in authoritative league tables.
“McGuireWoods’ securities and capital markets practice has a national reputation for excellence helping clients achieve their business goals,” Ginley said. “This is a perfect fit for my practice and I look forward to putting my experience to work for clients.”
