The State Bar of California has scheduled a CLE event for Friday, October 9 titled Trade Secrets, Non-competes, Interference and the Duty of Loyalty: Basics and Recent Law for Friday, October 9, at the State Bar of California, 1149 South Hill Street, Los Angeles.
Speakers Henry J. Joefsberg, an attorney in solo practice who represents employees and management in employment disputes and provides mediation services, and Douglas Wickham, Littler Mendelson and a former assistant U.S. attorney, will present frequently litigated employment law areas concerning employer trade secrets, competition by former and current employees, and interference with a contract. Topics will include non-competition in the employment setting with attention to a new case, Edwards v. Arthur Anderson;trade secrets - how to get, protect, enforce, and litigate one; Close to Trade Secrets, Electronic Communications Privacy Act, Constitutional Privacy, and other privacy issues concerning employer intellectual property; interference with contract and economic relations; employee duty of loyalty - infrequently used labor code provisions that control employee behavior on the job; wrongful termination; and unfair competition - no longer just a parasitic claim.
