California Bar Schedules Annual Land Use Roundtables

The State Bar of California has scheduled an annual spring event, the Spring Roundtables on Contaminated Sites and Land Use Law & Policy for Friday through Sunday, June 12 to 14.

This weekend CLE event for lawyers and their families will be held at the Loews Coronado Bay San Diego, 4000 Loews Coronado Bay Road in Coronado.

The interactive roundtable discussions are aimed at practitioners with five or more years of experience. Roundtables are limited to 35 attendees each, and participants are expected to contribute to the discussions. Saturday afternoon is unscheduled to allow participants time to network and enjoy the local sites.

The contaminated sites talks will focus on state and federal cost recovery litigation updates, regulatory reform initiatives, the current Brownfield market, and environmental insurance. The Land Use and Policy sessions will address SB 375, CEQA analysis of climate change impacts, renewable energy siting, and recent CEQA litigation.

Among the moderators are Maureen Gorsen, Alston & Bird and former director of the CA Department of Toxic Substances; Ethan Elkind, environmental law fellow at the University of CA Berkeley School of Law; and Allison Cook of Stoel Rives.
