Barnes & Thornburg is pleased to announce that Brian C. Crist has joined the firm’s Indianapolis and South Florida offices as a partner in its Real Estate Department. Crist’s arrival follows closely on the heels of the department’s recent addition of Jason B. Myers and marks the sixth transactional partner to join Barnes & Thornburg since September.
Crist has experience in almost all conceivable commercial real estate product types, with a specialty in public-private partnership (P3), multifamily, and retail projects.
“Brian’s extensive experience representing parties on both sides of P3 projects gives him a keen understanding of how to successfully structure and close complex developments – making him an important resource for our clients as these developments become increasingly popular,” said Salvador P. LaViña, chair of Barnes & Thornburg’s Real Estate Department. “More broadly, as we continue to experience a nationwide construction boom driven by post-pandemic demand and public and private investment, we’re excited to have such a talented and knowledgeable real estate lawyer like Brian on our team.”
“Brian’s deep developer relationships in Indiana and across the nation, as well as his extensive P3 experience, are important additions to our existing experience across our footprint,” said Brian L. Burdick, managing partner of Barnes & Thornburg’s Indianapolis office. “His arrival comes at a critical time when clients are increasingly looking to us for guidance in navigating the opportunities and challenges of real estate markets across the U.S. amid economic shifts, policy changes, rapid growth, and the growing influence of extreme weather. We are confident that Brian will serve as a trusted adviser, helping our clients address these dynamics effectively.”
Crist earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt University Law School and his B.A. from the University of Missou
