On Tuesday, May 5 from 4 to 7 p.m., the Boston Bar Association will sponsor a CLE program on climate change regulatory compliance issues by presenting a practical view from the field. Titled Green Building and Greenhouse Gas Emissions, the presentation will be held in the offices of Nixon Peabody LLP, 100 Summer Street, Boston.
The first panel discussion, Regulatory Compliance Issues - What You Need to Know about Green Building, Climate Change and Greenhouse Gas Emissions, will focus on complying with local and state regulatory systems that require specific green building and greenhouse gas emission compliance measures.Panelists, moderated by Renee LeFevre, assistant general counsel, Boston Redevelopment Authority, will be James Hunt, III, chief of Environmental and Energy Services, City of Boston; Alicia McDevitt, director, MA Environmental Policy Act Officer; and Leo Roy, managing director of Environment and Energy Services, Vanasees Hagen Brustlin, Inc.
The second panel, A View from the Field, will discuss issues related to how cost and risk in achieving green building objectives are allocated among the various parties to design development and construction contracts. Moderator John P. Connelly, Hinckley Allen & Snyder LLP will be joined by panelists Julie Taylor, Noble & Wickersham LLP; Laura Wernick, AIA, HMFH Architects, Inc.; Tom Perry, director of Engineering Services for Shawmut Design and Construction, Inc.; and Yakir Siegal, Suffolk Construction Company.
