Benjamin Britz Welcomes by Nelson Mullins' White-Collar Practice in Washington, D.C.

Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, a full-service national law firm with offices from coast to coast, welcomes partner Benjamin Britz to its Washington, D.C. office. Britz joins the firm’s litigation practice group in a lateral move from Hughes Hubbard & Reed.

“We’re excited to welcome Benjamin to our litigation practice,” said partner Matthew Lindenbaum, leader of the firm’s Boston litigation team. “His deep knowledge and experience will further strengthen our ability to navigate the challenges of white-collar defense and securities matters. He brings an invaluable perspective and will elevate our practice, particularly in the Washington, D.C. market.”

Britz represents clients in government and internal investigations and domestic and international white-collar criminal matters. He has deep experience in high-profile corruption and financial fraud investigations. Britz regularly represents clients in enforcement inquiries, including before the Department of Justice, Securities and Exchange Commission, Attorney General offices, and Multilateral Development Banks.

Britz also represents clients in shareholder class and derivative litigations. He has represented companies and their directors and executives in scores of high-stakes shareholder litigations, including fiduciary duty cases and allegations of securities fraud.

“I’m thrilled to join Nelson Mullins,” said Britz. “Enforcement agencies and the securities bar are increasingly focused on challenging any hint of corporate misconduct. Nelson Mullins gives me all the tools to help our clients navigate their way through these challenges and emerge stronger.”
