Ben Howe Welcomed to Foley Hoag

Foley Hoag LLP has announced the addition of Ben Howe to its Emerging Company & Venture Capital (ECVC) practice group as a Partner. Howe joins the firm's Boston office, where he will continue supporting technology companies and venture capital investors.

Howe serves as a trusted advisor on the myriad legal issues emerging companies and venture investors face, having helped to form and grow hundreds of technology companies in his career. His practice has focused on representing innovators leveraging AI-driven technologies for over a decade, and increasingly leans towards the generative AI space.

“As a former founder, Ben brings a deeply practical approach to his work,” said Patrick Connolly, Co-Chair of the ECVC practice. “His client service model aligns with our team's philosophy of delivering creative advice that goes beyond traditional lawyering.”

In addition to counseling clients on transactions ranging from early seed financings to large pre-IPO equity rounds, Howe also advises clients on buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, with a focus on the sale and acquisition of venture-backed companies.

"Foley Hoag has always been a cornerstone of the entrepreneurial ecosystem," said Howe. "The firm's commitment to client service and the emerging business community, as well as its embrace of legal innovation, make it an ideal platform for supporting entrepreneurs and investors through every stage of their journeys. I look forward to working alongside colleagues who share a passion for problem-solving and exceptional client outcomes."

Howe has served as an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law, where he taught a seminar on startups and venture capital for several years. He received his law degree from the University of Colorado, where he focused his studies on entrepreneurship, and he has an undergraduate degree from Middlebury College.
