BBB Plans CSR Forum On Restoring Trust In Business

BBB Education and Research Foundation in cooperation with The Bank of New York Mellon and Time Inc. will host a timely program titled CSR Forum II: Leading the Recovery and Restoring Transparency and Trust in Business.It has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 12 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Time Inc. Conference Center, 1271 Avenue of the Americas, NYC.

Three panel discussions have been scheduled. The first, Building Transparency and Integrity, will feature Stanley S. Litow, vice president, Corporate Citizenship & Corporate Affairs, IBM and John DeRose, senior manager, Audit & Enterprise Risk Services, Deloitte & Touche LLP. They will answer the question, what will it take for senior leaders to restore shattered trust in business and lead the way to recovery?They will also evaluate what requirements are necessary to be a responsible and sustainable board.

The second panel presentation, Responsibility Strategies for Rough Times, will be moderated by Carol Cone, chairman and founder, Cone Inc. She will be joined by panelists Kathryn C. Brown, senior vice president, Public Policy Development & Corporate Responsibility, Verizon Communications, Inc.; Lisa M. Quiroz, senior vice-president, Corporate Responsibility, Time Warner; and Caroline Roan, vice president, Corporate Responsibility, Pfizer Inc. and president, Pfizer Foundation.

The last panel discussion titled Ethical Marketing Challenges will cover issues such as behavioral marketing, stealth marketing, privacy, data security, and the latest best practices and self-regulatory efforts. Participants will be panel moderator, Stuart Elliott, advertising columnist, The New York Times; Leonard L. Gordon, director, Northeast Regional Office, Federal Trade Commission; Randall Rothenberg, president and CEO, Interactive Advertising Bureau; and Ronald R. Urbach, partner, co-chair, Advertising, Marketing and Promotions Practice Group, Davis & Gilbert LLP.
