An associate in the Boston office, Matthew Baker’s practice includes the defense of companies in high-stakes product liability suits involving medical devices, pharmaceutical drugs and consumer goods. Baker is actively involved in deposition practice, including taking, defending and preparing deponents for party, fact witness, expert witness and Rule 30(b)(6) depositions. He earned his J.D. from New England Law, Boston in 2017 and his B.A. in political science and international relations from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2013.
As a paralegal in the Chicago office, Lisa M. Dauphinais’ primary focus includes case management, discovery and trial preparation for multidistrict litigation and state coordinated actions. She offers experience in developing and managing electronic databases, the collection and review of medical records and the in-depth analysis of discovery documents. Dauphinais earned her B.A. in English from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2000.
Rick E. Howard, a paralegal in the Chicago office, initiates court filings, assists attorneys and clients through the litigation discovery process, and provides a full spectrum of trial management services including trial preparation logistics and support services negotiations. Additionally, Howard conducts case status monitoring and performs research as needed. He earned his ABA-approved, post-baccalaureate certificate in paralegal studies from Loyola University Chicago and his B.A. in environmental studies from Northeastern Illinois University.
An associate in the Los Angeles office, Duncan T. Justice focuses his practice on litigation in the areas of product liability, mass torts and toxic torts. He has successfully defended a range of clients from small-business owners to national corporations in complex matters involving environmental contamination, toxic torts and personal injury. Justice earned his J.D. from the University of California Irvine School of Law in 2021 and his B.A. in political science and government from Indiana University in 2018.
Crystal Kuruvilla, an associate in the Chicago office, defends companies in high-stakes product liability, toxic tort and commercial litigation matters. She is involved in many aspects of trial preparation, including developing case strategy, drafting motions and summary judgment briefs, preparing expert witnesses for trial, and defending and taking depositions. Kuruvilla earned her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2019, her M.S. from DePaul University College of Nursing in 2015 and her B.A. in psychology from the University of Illinois Chicago in 2013.
