Friday, October 7, The 9th Annual Institute on Class Actions, 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel, San Francisco, with speakers to be announced;

Thursday, October 13, Improving Your Organization's Control Environment - Current Practices in Corporate Ethics and Integrity, noon to 1:30 p.m. at the CLE Auditorium, 465 California Street, San Francisco, with speakers Alfredo Avila, senior manager-corporate compliance, Gap Inc., and Jaime Jue, manager-forensic, KPMG LLP;

Monday, October 17, Finding Fraud on and off the Books, noon to 1:30 p.m., also at the CLE Auditorium, with speaker Dan Ray, director-Litigation Services Group, Hemming Morse, Inc;

Thursday, October 20, Persuasive Legal Writing, 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., also at the CLE Auditorium, with speakers Daniel U. Smith, certified appellate specialist, and Judge David Garcia (retired), San Francisco Superior Court;

Friday, October 21, Directors' Remorse: The Changing Landscape of Directors' Liability and D&O Insurance, noon to 1:30 p.m., also at the CLE Auditorium, with speakers Norman Allen, Carpenter Moore Insurance Services Inc.; Willie Bogan, vice president, assistant general counsel and assistant secretary, Catellus Development Corporation, and Sara Brody, Heller Ehrman, LLP.
