Bar Association Of San Francisco Panel To Discuss Securities Litigation

The Bar Association of San Francisco has scheduled a panel discussion, Recent Developments in Securities Litigation, for Thursday, March 25, from noon to 1:30 p.m.

It will be held at the offices of Fenwick & West LLP, 555 California Street in San Francisco.

Kevin Muck, a partner at Fenwick & West, will moderate the discussion. The panel, which includes representatives from the defense bar, the plaintiffs' bar, and the SEC, will discuss trends in securities class actions: what cases are being filed and how they are being resolved; life in the post-backdating/post-credit-crisis era; the view from the plaintiffs' bar; and recent enforcement priorities by the SEC, including the uptick in insider trading cases.

Panelists include Norman Blears, partner, Hogan & Hogan LLP; James Kramer, partner, Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP; Robert Leach, branch chief, SEC; and Shawn Williams, partner, Coughlin Stoia Geller Rudman & Robbins LLP.
