Bankruptcy And Employee Benefit Plans DiscussedIn San Francisco Seminar

On Tuesday, August 10, the Bar Association of San Francisco will hold a noontime seminar titled Bankruptcy and Employee Benefit Plans: Clearing Hurdles and Developing Solutions.

It will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the BASF Conference Center, 301 Battery Street in San Francisco. Mark Cushman, a senior investigator with the U.S. Department of Labor's Employee Benefits Security Administration (EBSA), will join James P. Baker, partner, Winston & Strawn LLP, to discuss the following topics: EBSA's general enforcement authority and initiatives pursuant to the Employee Retirement Income Act; EBSA's enforcement concerns in bankruptcy cases; plan fiduciary functions and actions of bankruptcy trustees and debtors in possession; and employee benefit plan problems and solutions in litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.
