The State Bar of Arizona is planning a CLE seminar titled Reinforcing the Foundation: Emerging Issues for Construction Lawyers.
The program will take place on Friday, February 15 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Orange Tree Golf Resort, 10601 North 56th Street, Scottsdale, AZ.
This seminar will cover two emerging issues for construction lawyers. The morning session will focus on third-party claims against architects/engineers. One key question to be discussed is whether the 1984 Arizona Supreme Court decision in Donnelly Construction Co. v. Oberg/Hunt/Gilleland is still viable in light of recent court pronouncements on the economic loss rule and duty.
The afternoon session will include a careful review of recently released standards from construction agreements. The program will examine the 2007 AIA documents and the new ConsensusDOCS, a set of standard agreements promulgated by the construction industry.
