Faegre Drinker announced today that Avi Schick has joined Faegre Drinker’s litigation group as a partner in the New York City office.
Schick will serve as co-leader of the firm’s national state attorneys general (AG) practice. Faegre Drinker has more than fifteen attorneys who have served in senior roles in state attorneys general offices across the United States before joining the firm. The team represents clients across industries in investigations and litigations conducted by dozens of state AGs.
Schick brings vast experience to representing clients in bet-the-company matters, including criminal and civil investigations and enforcement actions before state and federal regulators, prosecutors and enforcement agencies.
“Avi’s experience with government investigations and complex civil litigations is an excellent addition to our strong bench of litigators, particularly for our white-collar defense and investigations practice,” said Debbie Ellingboe, litigation group leader. “We look forward to growing our state AG practice in New York and across the country.”
Schick served as deputy attorney general in the New York State Attorney General’s Office, where he conducted and oversaw major investigations and litigations.
“Avi has an impressive portfolio – from his background at the NY Attorney General’s Office to his experience handling complex criminal investigations,” said Laura Appleby, New York City office leader. “He brings increased depth to our strong New York white collar practice.”
Schick has represented public companies, high-profile entrepreneurs, real estate developers, owners and financiers, senior and elected government officials, political parties and nonprofit and educational institutions in government investigations and civil litigations. He has successfully defended numerous investigations and claims alleging False Claims Act, Martin Act, consumer fraud, tax nonprofit law, governance, labor and employment, and public corruption and integrity violations.
