Austin Seminar: LLCs And Partnerships

On Thursday and Friday, July 22 and 23, the University Of Texas School Of Law will explore LLCs and Partnerships at the Four Seasons Hotel in Austin.

The program will run from 8 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. day one and from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. day two.

Among the topics that will be covered on Thursday are LLC vs. limited partnerships: choice of entity; a franchise tax overview and update; multiple party representation in the LLC and partnership deals; bankruptcy issues involving LLCs and partnerships; and the view from the Secretary of State's Office. Elizabeth S. Miller, professor at Baylor Law School, will moderate a panel discussion titled Hot Topics and Emerging Issues Involving LLCs and Partnerships.

On Friday, Barabara Spudis De Marigny of Gardere Wynne Sewell LLP and Kevin Thomason of Thompson & Knight LLP will discuss carried interest issues while a controversy continues, and William R. Cousins, III, Meadows, Collier, Reed, Cousins, Crouch & Ungerman, L.L.P., will discuss family limited partnerships.
