Annual Mortgage Lending Institute In Texas

The University Of Texas School Of Law has scheduled a video replay of its annual William W. Gibson, Jr., Mortgage Lending Institute for Thursday and Friday, December 11 and 12, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 1200 Louisiana Street in Houston.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. and adjourn at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and go from 9 a.m. to 3:25 p.m. on Friday. A lunchtime presentation is included on both days.

Among the topics to be covered are Top Ten Issues for Borrowers; Title Insurance Update: Highlights of New Forms and Revised Provisions; Title Insurance Involving Oil, Gas and Mineral Interests; Understanding and Working with New Texas Statutes Affecting Residential Lenders and Investors; Workouts: From Default to Resolution in Today's Structured Credit Environment; Primer on Foreclosures; Debt Collection Do's and Don'ts; and the Ethics of Striking Back: the Noble Lawyer and the Rehabilitation of the Profession.

Scheduled speakers include William J. Chriss, Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism; Julie Patterson Forrester, SMU Dedman School of Law; Ralph Martin Novak, Jr., The University of Texas System - Office of the General Counsel; and Steve Wu, Wachovia Insurance.
