Honigman LLP announced today that it is growing its Corporate Department with the addition of Angela Johnson Reier as partner in the firm’s Transactions & Counseling Practice Group in Chicago.
Reier focuses her practice on U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, providing a holistic strategy comprised of legal and business support throughout the deal lifecycle. Her extensive experience managing a diverse transaction pipeline includes complex carveout divestitures and mid-market standalone acquisitions with deal values ranging upwards of $1 billion. She oversees due diligence, conducts purchase agreement negotiations, evaluates for regulatory compliance, and advises on integration or separation execution.
"Angie’s 15 years of experience managing transaction preparation, strategic acquisitions and dispositions, global contract negotiations and high-risk supplier mitigation will be exceptionally valuable to our clients looking for support across every stage of a deal," said Donald Kunz, chair of Honigman’s Corporate Department. “Her work with prominent international companies in a complex regulatory landscape offers even more advantages for clients dealing with high-stakes, high-value transactions.”
Reier also manages complex global contracts and serves as an advisor to senior executives on critical issues related to all commercial strategic transactions. Reier has led strategic initiatives such as long-term dealer arrangements, start-up investments, and joint ventures and has effectively negotiated domestic and international agreements related to sales, purchases, royalties, and distribution.
Reier earned a J.D., with distinction, from University of Iowa College of Law in 2005, and a B.S. from Northwestern University in 2002. Prior to joining the firm, Reier served as associate general counsel and senior counsel at three prominent national and global corporations.
