Anderson Kill announces that three shareholders in the firm’s Insurance Recovery Group -- Diana Shafter Gliedman, Marshall Gilinsky, and Robert D. Chesler -- have been named equity shareholders, effective January 28. Diana, Marshall and Bob have more than six decades of insurance recovery experience between them and have recovered well more than a billion dollars in insurance proceeds for their clients.
Diana Shafter Gliedman, based in the firm’s New York office, represents industry leaders and global companies, including those in the retail, hospitality, communications and media industries, in complex insurance coverage litigation. Drawing on extensive experience litigating in state and federal court, arbitration and mediation, Diana has helped clients recover hundreds of millions of dollars under property, general liability, professional liability, D&O and Employment Practices Liability policies. Diana is co-chair of the firm's Hospitality Industry Practice Group and represents hotels, retailers, theme parks, restaurants, and other hospitality entities pursuing insurance coverage for all manner of claims, including large scale property losses and business interruption losses stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic. She also represents prominent legal, accounting, architecture and other professional services firms seeking coverage under professional liability policies. Marshall Gilinsky, also based in New York and admitted to practice in five states, has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars in insurance recovery for his clients, successfully litigating claims in courts across the country under property/business interruption, general liability, D&O, E&O and life insurance policies. He currently represents companies with multistate property portfolios in the hospitality, entertainment, and gaming industries in claims for business income losses stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic, including claims reaching into the hundreds of millions of dollars. Robert D. Chesler, based in the firm’s Newark, New Jersey office, represents policyholders in a broad variety of coverage claims against their insurance companies and advises clients with respect to their insurance programs. A leading participant in the birth of modern insurance law in the early 1980s, Bob has emerged as a leader in areas of insurance coverage including cyber, D&O, IP, and privacy insurance. He currently represents well-known New Jersey shore properties in business income claims stemming from the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as clients pursuing coverage for liability stemming from allegations of sexual abuse.
