Anderson Kill Employment Seminar: #YouToo? - What to do? How employers can prevent and defend sexual harassment claims after #MeToo

For years, courts have provided guidance on the definitions of sexual harassment and sexually hostile work environment, and on the defenses available to employers. We will provide an overview of what constitutes sexual harassment according to legislation, EEOC guidelines and case law.
In the current surge of awareness and claims, however, settled practices may not be enough. Speakers will examine what employers should do when #MeToo claims land. We will outline how to create an environment in which unwanted advances are less likely to happen -- and are dealt with fairly and effectively when they do.
Speakers will also address what kinds of insurance may cover harassment claims, e.g., employment practices liability insurance (EPLI), with a quick review of key coverage provisions and tips for submitting and handling claims.
