The American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) announced the 2019 recipients of the association’s highest honor, the Marian Gould Gallagher Distinguished Service Award.

The 2019 AALL Gallagher Award recipients are:

• James S. Heller

• Kenneth J. Hirsh

• Jacquelyn J. Jurkins

• Darcy Kirk

Established in 1984 to acknowledge sustained service to law librarianship, exemplary Association support, and outstanding contributions to professional literature, the Gallagher Award is presented to individuals who have completed, or are nearing completion of, an active professional career.

“I am proud to announce this year’s winners of the Marian Gould Gallagher Distinguished Service Award,” said AALL President Femi Cadmus. “While the Gallagher Award always recognizes the best among us for their many years of service and leadership, I’m particularly proud of the outstanding contributions of this year’s recipients. Ken Hirsh, Jacquelyn Jurkins, Darcy Kirk, and James Heller represent the best of us as educators, leaders, and innovators, and serve as examples of inspiration through service. I applaud them for their years of dedicated service, and I congratulate them on this distinguished honor.”

The Gallagher Award winners will be recognized at the upcoming 112th AALL Annual Meeting & Conference, to be held in Washington, D.C. from July 13-16, 2019.
