Faegre Drinker announced today that Alice Morical has joined the firm as a partner in the business litigation group in Indianapolis. Morical joins from an Indianapolis-based litigation boutique firm where she was a founding partner.
A go-to trial court and appellate litigator, Morical is skilled at effectively helping clients navigate their most challenging legal disputes. She represents clients in complex and high-stakes matters, including commercial, trade secret and noncompete controversies, as well as professional service providers in state administrative and licensing cases.
“One of the most prominent commercial litigators in Indianapolis, Alice is an outstanding attorney with first chair trial experience,” said Indianapolis partner Andrea Roberts Pierson. “She is a strategic thinker and tenacious advocate for her clients’ business interests. Alice is a strong leader in the Indianapolis business community who can contribute to the development and growth of our next generation of commercial litigators in Indiana and across the firm.”
In federal and state courts, Morical represents companies and individuals in disputes relating to breach of contract claims, mergers and acquisitions, business torts, securities fraud and defamation claims. She also counsels companies and executives in interpreting, enforcing and challenging noncompete agreements and responding to and asserting claims of trade secret misappropriation.
Morical also defends physicians and other professional service providers in professional licensing proceedings and has represented clients before Indiana’s Medical Licensing Board and Board of Accountancy.
“We are thrilled to welcome Alice. Her joining us is a true testament to the strength of our business litigation practice in Indianapolis,” said Kathy Osborn, partner and Indianapolis office leader. “She’s very involved in the local legal community and highly regarded by peers and judges alike. We are excited to see the impact she will have across the firm.”
Morical is an elected member of the American Law Institute, a senior fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America, and a distinguished life fellow of the Indianapolis Bar Foundation. She earned her B.A., cum laude, from Miami University and her J.D., magna cum laude, from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. She served as a law clerk for Hon. John D. Tinder, U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Indiana.
