Accenture, American Airlines, KeyCorp, FDIC, And Shell Oil Among NAMWOLF’s Inaugural Platinum Partners Award Recipients

.The National Association of Minority & Women-Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) announced a new recognition program – Platinum Partners of NAMWOLF -- which honors NAMWOLF’s corporate and public entity partners who succeed at spending a minimum of five percent of their outside counsel legal budget on minority- and women-owned (MWBE) law firms. Accenture, American Airlines, KeyCorp, FDIC and Shell Oil are the first recipients to be recognized with this significant distinction.

“These platinum partners are true examples of leadership and commitment to diversity in the legal profession,” states Jason L. Brown, NAMWOLF’s executive director and general counsel. “We applaud these organizations for all that they have done and for the great things that lie ahead.”

For the past 10 years, NAMWOLF has been a champion for inclusion and diversity within the legal profession. One of its efforts is the creation of the Corporate and Public Entity Partnering Program (CPEPP), which serves to assist corporate counsel in identifying qualified MWBE law firms for outside legal work. The entities that are involved in this program set an aspiring goal of spending 5 percent of their outside legal budget on certified MWBE law firms.

“NAMWOLF has always supported our partners by providing resources to assist them in pursuit of this goal, and now we are thrilled to celebrate the first partners to receive the designation as platinum partners of NAMWOLF,” said Yolanda Coly, senior director of advocacy & development.
