ACCA-SoCal Schedules Leadership Council On Diversity

On Thursday, September 16, the ACCA-SoCal chapter will sponsor a discussion titled Inside Diversity III: The Leadership Council on Legal Diversity. It will run from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the California Club, 538 South Flower Street in Los Angeles.

Building on the foundation of the Call to Action, the new Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) brings together general counsel and law firm leaders to collaborate on solutions for significantly advancing diversity in the legal industry. This is a rare opportunity to hear from representatives of the various LCLD task forces as they report on the council's goals and objectives.

The program will consist of a panel discussion followed by the 2010 Profiles in Diversity Presentation, which shines a spotlight on individual in-house counsel and law departments in Southern California who embody the principle that diversity works, makes sense and is beneficial to society as a whole. Panelists include Robert Grey, executive director of LCLD, and Joseph K. West, associate general counsel of Walmart. The honoree, Kim Rivera, is general counsel of Davita, Inc.
