ACC WCFL Community Service Holiday Toy Drive

On Saturday, December 11 the West Central Florida ACC Chapter and the Christmas Toy Shop will partner to ensure that less fortunate children in Pinellas County will not be without a toy this year. The charity event will begin at 8:00 a.m. and end at 1:00 p.m.

The Christmas Toy Shop's goal is to provide toys during the holiday season to less fortunate children in lower Pinellas County. The Toy Shop originated in 1921, was organized in 1952 at the request of the community welfare council to coordinate the efforts of clubs, agencies and individuals in toy giving, and was chartered by the City of St. Petersburg in 1959. Since then, as many as 4,500 children a year in South Pinellas have received gifts at no cost to their families.

Volunteers will assist with distribution of donated toys to families in need. Volunteers will work as shop "clerks" assisting on the floor and with check-out as parents make their way through the shop. Lunch will be provided by ACC-WCFL.

Whether or not you are able to attend this event, you can help by donating an unwrapped gift at the chapter holiday party on Thursday, December 9. The Toy Shop will accept gifts of any value, but there is a particular need for gifts for infants, 1-2 year old boys and girls, and 11-12 year old boys and girls.
