ACC - SoCal To Discuss Leaves Of AbsenceIn Monthly Multi-Venues

As part of its monthly multi-venue program, in which a seminar is presented in five locations, the Southern California ACCA chapter will discuss Unspinning the Intricate Web of Leaves of Absence Laws on Wednesday, August 19.

Breakfast meetings will run from 7:30-9:15 a.m. in Pasadena and Irvine, and lunch meetings will run from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. in Downtown LA, Torrance, and Westlake Village.

Federal and state laws providing leaves of absence rights to employees have undergone significant changes and expansion over the past year. This program will highlight the major laws and changes and provide tools and guidance that should enable generalists and employment lawyers alike to understand the rights and obligations of employers under these laws. The discussion will focus on the California Family Rights Act (CFRA) and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and what rules apply in California; updated FMLA Regulations - what the changes are and do they apply under California's CFRA; and the amended Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA AA).
