ACC San Diego Examines Legal Issues In Latin America

In an evening seminar on Thursday, March 10, the International Law Practice Group of the San Diego ACC Chapter will examine Key Legal Issues for U.S. Companies Entering Latin America.

It will run from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 p.m. at DLA Piper, 4365 Executive Drive in San Diego.

DLA Piper attorneys Stuart Berkson, a partner, and Larry Nishnick, of counsel, both in the Corporate and Securities group, will lead a discussion focusing on areas of concern for U.S. investors making acquisitions or starting operations in Latin America. Because of the differences in the systems in Latin American countries and the way business is conducted, any entity wanting to enter, whether through a greenfield startup or a purchase, will have issues to deal with in the following four areas: taxes, employment, environmental, and FCPA.
