ACC: Reducing The Risks Of Social Media

On Thursday, September 15, the ACC Southern California chapter will offer a special program - The Smart Use of Social Media to Reduce Legal Risks.

It will run from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. at Sony Studios, 10202 Washington Blvd. in Culver City.

Kathyleen O'Brien, a partner with Reed Smith, and Beth Baier, general counsel and vice president of business affairs, Warner Home Video, Inc., will give practical guidance on the steps companies can take to successfully interact in social media, and they will share their top takeaways for reducing legal risk. They will help attendees establish ground rules for engagement and response, including how to draft effective social media policies and how to address the important issue that arise from posting content, including user-generated advertisements and employee testimonials and endorsements, engaging "influencers," and hosting contests and promotions on company-sponsored social media sites.
