The American Bar Association (ABA) Section of Litigation has scheduled its 2008 Ethics Centennial Symposium.
The two-day event will take place on Friday and Saturday, April 18 and 19 at The Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill, 400 New Jersey Avenue, Washington, DC.
The program is designed to examine the evolution of rules governing lawyer professional conduct since the ABA adopted its first set of rules in 1908. The four-session symposium, featuring some of the nation's most respected judges, practitioners and academics, will examine the environment of 21st century litigation and address the role that professional standards should play, or perhaps should not play, in helping lawyers navigate current and future challenges.
Among the speakers will be the Hon. Samuel A. Alito, associate justice, U.S. Supreme Court; the Hon. Robert Benham, Supreme Court of Georgia; the Hon. Gene E. K. Pratter, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Hon. E. Norman Veasey, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP and former chief justice, Delaware Supreme Court.
