ABA Business Law Section to present program on corporate litigation problems

The Corporate Counsel Committee of the American Bar Association’s Business Law Section is presenting a CLE Program at the Business Law Section’s Virtual Annual Meeting. The program is co-sponsored by 32 additional Committees of the Business Law Section. The program is entitled “Litigation Problems That Keep Corporate Counsel Awake At Night and How Outside Counsel Can Help Solve Them” and it is scheduled for Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:15 p.m. Central Time.

At the program, three General Counsel and five prominent litigators will provide practical advice and strategies. This program is designed to help business lawyers do their jobs better and faster. The program will focus on improving the quality and maximizing the value of litigation services for corporate clients. The panelists will engage in a candid discussion about how in-house counsel and law firms can build strong client relationships while enhancing their corporate clients’ bottom line. The program will identify significant challenges which corporate litigation presents and will show business lawyers how to select and implement value maximizing strategies which address those challenges as effectively as possible. The format for the program will be a 90 minute interactive panel discussion in which the panelists will respond to questions from the moderator. This format is intended to encourage a lively give and take among the panelists and the moderator.

The program will address the following three topics:

1. Significant challenges which corporate litigation presents and advice to help inside and outside counsel work together to address these challenges as effectively as possible by maximizing the value and improving the quality of corporate litigation services.

2. How in-house and outside counsel can assist their corporate client in minimizing financial liability, regulatory risk, and reputational harm arising from litigation.

3. How in-house and outside counsel can assist their corporate client in managing and staffing litigation cost-effectively.
