The American Arbitration Association-International Centre for Dispute Resolution® (AAA-ICDR) congratulates the professionals who have been elected to the Executive Board and Global Advisory Board of the ICDR Young & International. The ICDR Young & International was established in 2004 at the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Vienna, Austria. The organization, sponsored by the ICDR, serves as a networking and education group for young dispute resolution practitioners under age 40 in the areas of commercial and public interest arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution. The ICDR Young & International currently has over 2,500 members from countries all over the world, and sponsored 21 international events globally in 2019. They replace outgoing Executive Board members Francisco Amallo, Counsel at PAGBAM in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Christina Doria, Associate at Baker McKenzie in Toronto, Canada; Dr. Sarah Ganz, Counsel at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr in London, UK; Dr. Anna Kozmenko, Senior Associate at Schellenberg Wittmer in Zurich, Switzerland; and Viren Mascarenhas, Counsel at King & Spalding in New York, USA.
In addition, 24 practitioners from 13 countries were appointed to the ICDR Young & International’s Global Advisory Board, which assists the Executive Board in the execution of its duties to organize international arbitration and mediation programs. Each Global Advisory Board member must organize at least two events during his or her term in coordination with the Executive Board. Global Advisory Board members also have an advisory function in the organization’s decision-making process, and focus on regional network-building. The new Global Advisory Board members are:
