Financial institutions operating in the United States and the legal and regulatory frameworks governing their activities have become truly complex. The subprime meltdown and its aftermath will further complicate this arena as participants in the financial services sector brace themselves for the regulators' response to this crisis.
Attendees of this seminar will learn to identify the different types of financial institutions and their regulatory frameworks; explore the impact of the subprime lending crisis on financial services providers; examine the implications of a move toward principles-guided regulation; survey the hot issues on enforcement and compliance agendas; and understand the ethics and governance challenges facing financial services attorneys.
