Continuing to strengthen in Germany, Morgan Lewis announces today the addition of three partners: intellectual property lawyers Dr. Alexander Klett and Dr. Christoph Mikyska in the Munich office and private equity lawyer Sebastian Dexheimer in Frankfurt.
Joining from Reed Smith, Alexander, who starts today and will be joined at a later date by Christoph, will continue to advise on nontechnical IP litigation as well as contentious and transactional IP law. Arriving on August 1 from Milbank, Sebastian will counsel national and international corporations and private equity investors on German and cross-border transactions, with a particular concentration in the technology and software sectors.
“Germany is a very important market for our clients and we maintain our commitment to providing top-tier talent, skills, and advanced resources that will be a true value add,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “From safeguarding clients’ brands and images to identifying investment opportunities in new and emerging assets, the combined depth of experience from this dynamic trio aligns with our industry-first approach and will greatly enhance our client service delivery in Germany and across Europe.”
“This is an exciting time for our German offices. We have been in growth mode—especially in the last 18 months since we established our second office in Munich,” said Dr. Florian Harder, managing partner of the firm’s Munich office. “With a strategic approach, we’ve expanded our services into key market sectors where we are seeing a surge in demand and activity, namely technology, life sciences, real estate, healthcare, and media.”
“With extensive knowledge of their respective areas in the Germany market, combined with a collective entrepreneurial spirit and collaborative nature, Alexander, Christoph, and Sebastian will be excellent additions for our team,” said Dr. Joachim Heine, Frankfurt office managing partner. “They will add even more breadth to our European bench, enhancing our capability to support complex inbound engagements for clients doing business in Germany and outbound work for German businesses engaged in cross-border business matters.”
The latest additions follow a series of partner hires in recent months: In Spring 2024, the firm welcomed in Munich business disputes partner Daja Apetz-Dreier and employment partner Dr. Philipp Schäuble, who arrived in April and February, respectively. Corporate partners Dr. Hans ‘Peter’ Leube and Marianne Nawroth joined the firm’s Frankfurt office in December 2023.
