Seminar Focus: Creating A SecuredTransaction Under Revised UCC Article 9

MICPEL this month has scheduled a CLE seminar titled Anatomy of a Deal: Revised UCC Article 9 in Action.

The program will take place on Thursday, November 18 from 9 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. at the Ecker Business and Training Center, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Columbia, MD.

The course is designed for the practitioner with more than a basic knowledge of secured transactions. A series of hypotheticals prepared and discussed by the faculty will carry attendees, cradle to grave, through the maze of creating and enforcing a secured transaction under Article 9.

Speakers will address issues that practitioners must address before the debtor even signs or e-signs to create a security agreement. An in-depth discussion will follow on the actual papering of the deal.

The program chair for the morning seminar is Earl F. Leitess, Leitess, Leitess & Friedberg, P.C. Speakers include Jeremy S. Friedberg and Steven N. Leitess, Leitess Leitess; Frederick W. RungeJr., Miles & Stockbridge P.C., and Carla Stone Witzel, Gordon, Feinblatt, Rothman, Hoffberger & Hollander, LLC.
