Honigman Expands Israeli Office and Launches Investment Fund Practice

Honigman LLP announced the addition of four attorneys to its Israeli subsidiary, Honigman Law Israel (HLI): Oron Eli from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP; Joshua Gottesman from Simpson Thatcher & Bartlett LLP (Simpson Thatcher); Amit Roitman from Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP; and Mayer Stein from Simpson Thatcher & Bartlett LLP. Additionally, Honigman announced the formal launch of its Investments Funds practice, with the additions of Gottesman and Stein.

Honigman Law Israel was established in 2022 by Honigman as a strategy to attract top-teir U.S. attorneys. The expansion brings the Israeli office’s total attorney count to nine. Gottesman and Stein’s additions, combined with the leadership of Israel-based partner Sam Katz, will drive the firm’s new Investment Funds practice, offering extensive experience in counseling investment advisers on the formation, structuring, offering, and ongoing operations of domestic and offshore investment vehicles, including private equity, real estate, debt, co-investment and continuation funds.

Gottesman joins HLI as a founding partner of Honigman's Investment Funds practice, along side Katz, brining eight years of fund formation experience from Simpson Thatcher, one of the country's leading funds law firms. Stein, also from Simpson Thatcher, further strengthens the team's expertise in this area.

Eli, joining Honigmans Private Equity group, focuses on private equity investments and mergers and acquisitions, bringing valuable experience from his time at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Roitman specializes in insurance recovery and complex coverage disputes through litigation, having represented corporate and institutional policyholders in high-stakes litigation against insurance companies at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP.
