Critical Issues in Post-WTO China is the title of a CLE seminar scheduled for this month by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (ABCNY).
The program will take place on Wednesday, April 14 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the House of the Association, 42 West 44th Street, New York City.
This program will address the legal and economic landscape of post-WTO China. A faculty of experienced "China hands," lawyers, scholars and finance executives will offer practical advice and insights gained from years of experience in U.S.-China business, including:
China's new business and industrial landscape: corporatization, "privatization" and corporate governance in reform-era China;
M&A in China: entry and exit issues for foreign capital - traditional strategic to private equity/VC investors;
China's capital markets: China's direct and indirect issuers, and foreign capital participation;
Intellectual Property and licensing: technology licensing into the People's Republic of China - post-WTO changes to the "technology import" (and now export) regime;
Corporate and social responsibility and human rights - issues for foreign capital;
Post-WTO case study: regulation and reform of the banking and insurance sectors, and foreign investment;
Foreign exchange control issues.
