Robert Kirtley, a Director at iDiscovery Solutions (“iDS”), is leading iDS’ new service offering – iCyber Solutions. Robert will be speaking at the July 11, 2019 Cybersecurity Summit at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C. The event is being presented by the ACC Foundation, in partnership with the ACC British Columbia chapter. Robert has the honor and privilege of speaking on two panels that day:

Cybersecurity Issues in IoT Devices and Data

The Internet of Things generates an ever-increasing amount of information. While some of it may be mundane, vast swaths of it, from video camera feeds to movement patterns to healthcare information, will be useful to malicious actors. This panel will explore the legal and ethical obligations of collecting and storing that information and will also address the use of the collected information in cybersecurity.

How do GC's Forge an Alliance with the CISO and Board on Cybersecurity Issues?

Cybersecurity is a team sport. The legal department must work cross-functionally with other corporate departments and the board is increasing its oversight of cybersecurity issues. This session will explore the relationship between the general counsel, the chief information officer and the board and how these corporate leaders must navigate their company through the risks presented by cybersecurity and data privacy issues.
