Views By The U.S. Bankruptcy TrusteeOn Illegal, Unethical Activities

The Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) this month has scheduled a CLE seminar titled A View From the U.S. Trustee's Office: Practices and Procedures That Cross the Line.

The program will be presented on Friday, November 12 at the CLE Conference Center, Wanamaker Building, Juniper Street, Philadelphia, and on Tuesday, November 16 at the Conference Center at Mellon, 501 Grant Street, Pittsburgh. The program will run from noon to 2 p.m., with registration and lunch beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Representatives of the U.S. Trustees Office will discuss the practices and procedures that they view as "crossing the line" and examine what actions by debtors' attorneys are illegal, unethical or both. Participants will get an inside look at issues that are focused on by the U.S. Trustees's office and understand the Civil Enforcement Initiative that gives the U.S. Trustee power to investigate an attorney's conduct as debtor's counsel.

The course planners for the seminar are Frederic J. Baker, Office of the U.S. Trustee (Philadelphia), and Joseph S. Sisca, assistant U.S. Trustee (Pittsburgh).
