Victor Levy Rejoins Clifford Chance as a Partner in its U.S. Private Funds Group

Clifford Chance announced that Victor Levy has joined its Private Funds group as a Corporate partner in New York. Levy started his career at Clifford Chance, where he focused on private funds and structured credit vehicles, and was with the Firm for nearly nine years. He rejoins from DLA Piper, where he was made partner in 2015.

Levy has extensive experience representing fund sponsors in structuring and establishing private equity funds focused on a variety of alternative investment strategies, including performing and distressed debt and loan origination. He also has extensive experience advising sponsors in establishing managed accounts and funds of one. He advises both large, established managers sponsoring new funds, as well as high-quality emerging managers sponsoring first-time funds, to invest in U.S. and non-U.S. markets.

"As a private funds partner with broad experience in structured funds, Victor brings an uncommon skill set that is well aligned with other strengths in New York," said Roger Singer, who heads the Americas Funds & Investment Management group. "With the arrival of Michael Sabin last year and with Victor's return, we have expanded our fund formation practice to add cross-practice depth and increase our engagement in the private funds market of the asset management sector. It's great to have him back and contributing to our strategically important and highly successful global Funds platform."

"Victor's arrival continues a strong wave of growth for us in the U.S.," said Americas Regional Managing Partner Evan Cohen. "We have added 17 laterals, including five in our Corporate group, since 2016, and further expanded our offerings in key areas such as cyber, financial and insurance regulation, LatAm, real estate, restructuring, sanctions and white collar. Victor's credentials go straight to the priorities we have laid out in our Americas Strategy."

"Clifford Chance is a great fit for me, professionally and culturally," said Levy. "Considering the Firm's growth and performance in the US market, I am thrilled to reunite with my colleagues, not only in the States but also on a global platform that includes one of the best Funds practices in any market."
