Thomas Draper Joins Foley Hoag as Co-Chair of Debt Finance Practice

Noted finance attorney Thomas Draper has joined Foley Hoag LLP as a partner in the Business Department and Co-Chair of the Debt Finance Practice. He is resident in the firm’s Boston office.
Draper represents companies and private equity sponsors in a range of acquisition financing transactions, including asset-based credits and large syndicated term loans. He also has extensive experience representing borrowers in a variety of debt transactions, from bank credit facilities to senior and mezzanine notes to high yield bonds.
"As one of the top finance lawyers in New England, Tom is a welcome addition to our firm and an ideal person to co-chair our Debt Finance Practice," said Foley Hoag Co-Managing Partner Jeffrey Collins. "His years of law firm leadership and experience within the finance arena will greatly benefit many of our clients."
Draper also represents fund lenders in senior, second-lien and mezzanine loans. In the fund borrower area, he has worked on dozens of capital call facilities, portfolio leverage and liquidity financings for private and registered funds.
"Tom's experience in all aspects of finance is unsurpassed," said Foley Hoag Business Department Co-Chair Joseph Basile. "In particular, Tom’s expertise in acquisition finance, combined with that of his fellow Debt Finance Practice Co-Chair Malcolm Henderson, gives us tremendous capabilities to support our M&A and private equity clients."
Prior to joining the firm, Draper was a partner in the Boston office of Ropes & Gray LLP, where he was the long-time head of its Finance Group. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yale University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas Law School.
