'Serving On Nonprofit Boards - The Perks And The Perils'

Many attorneys, especially those in their early years of practice, become involved with nonprofit boards without understanding the numerous obligations associated with this service and the potential penalties for disregarding these obligations.

This issue will be the focus this month of a Massachusetts Bar Association CLE seminar titled Serving on Nonprofit Boards - The Perks and the Perils.

The session will take place on Thursday, August 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the MBA offices, 20 West Street, Boston.

This seminar will help attendees better understand their responsibilities when serving on a nonprofit board and limit the risk of liability in connection with such service.

Serving as program chair is Renee Elena Hackett, Bowditch & Dewey, LLP. Speakers will be Jamie Wollinson, Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General; Elizabeth Shackford Reinhardt, Law Office of Friend & Reinhardt, and others to be announced.

For information on registration fees, see the Bulletin Board in this issue.
