Richard A. Hauser To Head NLCPI

The board of directors of the National Legal Center for the Public Interest (NLCPI) has announced the appointment of Richard A. Hauser as president.

Mr. Hauser most recently served as general counsel of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Prior to his appointment to HUD by President George W. Bush, he was a partner in the Washington office of the law firm of Baker & Hostetler for 15 years.

From 1981 to 1986, Mr. Hauer served as deputy counsel to President Ronald Reagan in the White House. He was appointed to the board of directors of the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation and named chairman by President Reagan and reappointed to a second term by President George H.W. Bush. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Washington Hospital Center.
