Pennsylvania Bar Institute Expands Philadelphia CLE Facilities



The Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI), a major provider of continuing legal education has expended its offices on the 10th floor of the Wanamaker Building in Philadelphia. PBI's center-city presence has grown from 17,000 to 25,000 square feet. The state-of-the-art education center also boasts a new name - Pennsylvania Bar Institute Philadelphia Bar Association Conference Center.


Grand opening ceremonies were scheduled for June 23. The agenda included an address by Pennsylvania Chief Justice Ralph J. Cappy and discussions by Pennsylvania Bar Association officials of legislation affecting lawyers in the commonwealth.


"We are making a long-term commitment to post-graduate education in Philadelphia," said Roger B. Melton, executive director of PBI. "We look forward to being part of center city's revitalization."


PBI's headquarters in the Wanamaker Building places it close to numerous law firms, City Hall, public transportation and restaurants and hotels.


The expansion will accommodate larger programs, multi-session events, greater use of technology and additional course offerings. PBI already offers a wide range of more than 250 continuing legal education courses to attorneys serving a wide variety of community needs through non-profit agencies.
