Trademarks A to Z is the title of a CLE seminar to be presented by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute (PBI) at three locations this month.

The sessions will take place on Friday, May 21 at the PBI Conference Center, 5080 Ritter Road, Mechanicsburg, PA; on Tuesday, May 25 at the CLE Conference Center, Wanamaker Building, Juniper Street, Philadelphia, and on Thursday, May 27 at the Conference Center at Mellon, 501 Grant Street, Pittsburgh. Each session will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., with registration beginning at 8 a.m.

This course is designed to provide in-house counsel, less experienced intellectual property attorneys and general practitioners with a solid grounding in trademark law.

The faculty will offer a basic understanding of the nature of trademarks through trademark searches, federal registration, international issues such as the Madrid Protocol, what constitutes infringement, handling disputes, and issues of dilution.

The course planners are Barry L. Cohen, Thorp Reed & Armstrong, LLP, and Michael A. Doctrow, McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC. Speakers will be Lois B. Duquette, Hershey Foods Corporation, and Harvey Freedenberg, McNees Wallace.
