MBA Slates Annual Health Law Conference

The Massachusetts Bar Association (MBA) this month has scheduled its Annual Health Law Conference - Law & Medicine on the Cutting Edge.

The program will take place on Thursday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Colonade Hotel, 120 Huntington Avenue, Boston.

This conference brings nationally recognized speakers and panelists to discuss one of healthcare's most vibrant topics. Key representatives from the medical, patient, legal, media and political communities will discuss current trends and developing programs for handling adverse patient outcomes.

During the program, participants will discuss the statistical prevalence of adverse patient outcomes, the history of working with patients and providers around this issue, "cutting-edge" initiatives and research on the power of open discussion and the legal, political and cultural implications of more open, innovative programs.

The keynote address will be delivered by Lucien Leape, MD, MPH, Harvard School of Public Health. Other featured speakers will include Rick van Pelt, MD, Department of Anesthesiology, Brigham & Women's Hospital, and Linda Kenney, co-founder, Medically Induced Trauma Support Services.
