How To Write More Effectively

The DC Bar Association is offering a CLE seminar titled Effective Writing for Lawyers on Thursday, December 30.

This course for new or seasoned attorneys teaches participants how to recognize and correct common writing problems. Through a series of interactive exercises, attendees will learn how to fix those problems and make dull and bureaucratic language clear and concise.

Participants also will learn how to think about the writing process, how to untangle sentences, and how to edit. They also will be given 10 tips for turning ordinary writing into crisp, sharp and convincing prose.

The instructors are Jody Beck and Kathleen Sylvester, both of Writewell.

The session will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the DC Bar Conference Center, 1250 H Street, NW, Washington, DC.
