Below is an announcement released by the CLOC Board of Directors on Thursday, January 3, 2019:
On behalf of the Board of Directors, we are writing to inform you that Connie Brenton has announced her resignation as CEO of CLOC. In addition, Jeff Franke has resigned as a board member of CLOC.
The CLOC Board wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude and best wishes to our founding luminary, Connie Brenton. Similarly, we extend our thanks to Jeff Franke for his many contributions to CLOC over the years, not least of which was his work leading our CLOC Institute programming. We wish Connie and Jeff the best in their future endeavors.
Connie’s original vision of forming a thriving network of legal operations professionals brought together a small group of friends and fellow legal operations leads in the Silicon Valley. The group’s charter was to support each other, to establish best-practices, and to share our collective experience with each other and our peers. That small network has grown and matured into the strongest network of legal ops professionals worldwide, representing almost 1,900 members in more than 40 countries organized into 27 regional groups.
CLOC is poised for future growth and we look forward to continuing our focus on collaboration across the legal ecosystem. The CLOC Board could not be more excited about what 2019 holds in store for our community and for our members.
Later this month we will hold our second CLOC Institute in London, followed in May by another unrivaled Institute in Las Vegas, where we will continue to present cutting-edge content that will drive legal ops conversations and change the future of our industry. This is a time of great opportunity and of great change in the industry. We are in a strong position to strategically expand and empower our already talented support staff, ensuring we can deliver on our goals for another incredible year ahead. We are energized by our ability to change and grow and look forward to the success ahead.
As we continue to work to draw the entire legal ecosystem together to promote more innovative collaboration, and to establish and share best-practices with each other, we are committed to redoubling our efforts to create value for our membership with a focus on content creation, extending our network and delivering great programming.
