'Commercial Arbitration Strategies'Scheduled By Boston Bar Association



On Friday, April 9, the Boston Bar Association (BBA) will address this issue in a CLE seminar titled Commercial Arbitration Strategies.


This highly interactive program will feature a discussion with local facilitators chosen for their experience and expertise in the field of commercial arbitration. The program is designed to demystify the process and to provide a nuts and bolts review of arbitration procedure.


Some of the specific discussion topics will include: arbitrable claims; what rules apply; tips on selecting an arbitrator; case management issues and discovery; evidentiary standards; effective advocacy in arbitration hearings; the arbitration award - issues of confirmation, modification or vacating under state and federal law.


The program chair is Melinda A. Persuitte, assistant vice president, AAA. Serving as panel moderator is Gordon T. Walker, co-chair BBA Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee.


The program will take place from 9 a.m. to noon at the BBA Conference Center, 16 Beacon Street, Boston.
