Attorney Anthony Caruso to Speak at Cardozo School of Law

Anthony R. Caruso, a Member of law firm Norris McLaughlin, P.A., and Chair of its Sports, Media, and Entertainment (SME) Law Practice Group, will be a panelist for the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Sports Law Society’s “Free Speech and Sports.” The panel will discuss protest speech invoking the First Amendment’s values and protections in relation to professional sports. The event will take place on Thursday, October 4, 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., at the law school in New York City.

Caruso has a broad range of considerable experience in the negotiation and drafting of all types of legal transactions in the areas of business, sports, entertainment, music and literary, intellectual property, franchise and licensing, and technology. His notable projects include establishing a revolutionary technology services company; representing professional sports teams and leagues; negotiating music, film, and television deals; structuring multi-year licensing and sponsorship agreements; and supervising private equity/capital transactions for the acquisition or establishment of various ventures.

Caruso gained international attention when he represented Amy Polumbo, Miss New Jersey 2007, concerning blackmail over Internet photos. He provided all legal counseling and participated in negotiations, strategy, media supervision, and crisis management, appearing in major print and media outlets including People Magazine and NBC’s Today Show. He has also appeared on CBS, Fox, MSNBC, E! Entertainment, and many networks. He is frequently called upon by syndicated television, news, and print media outlets for his advice and commentary on current legal issues.
