American Society Of Corporate Secretaries Schedules 58th National Conference



The American Society of Corporate Secretaries (ASCS) this month has scheduled its 58th National Conference, this year's event conducted under the theme Changing Responsibilities, Different Perspectives.


The event will take place from Wednesday, July 7 through Saturday, July 10 at the Westin Copley Hotel in Boston.


The conference emphasizes the sharing of knowledge, procedures and benchmarking information, along with ample opportunities for networking.


Among the highlights are a workshop titled Ethics and the Law led by Constance E. Bagley, associate professor, Harvard Business School, and a workshop titled Communications: Defending and Enhancing Corporate Reputations in the Media, or Mr. Jones, 60 Minutes Is on the Phone, led by Brian McGlynn, CEO McGlynn Strategic Communications.


Among the featured speakers included at the conference are Leon Strine, vice chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery; Alan Dershowitz, author and professor at Harvard Law School, and Alan Beller, director of the Division of Corporation Finance at the Securities and Exchange Commission.


Programs will run between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the first day, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the second day, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. on the third day, and 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the fourth day.
